We aim to establish a solid foundation of key resources in an effort to position the Brownsville Border Film Commission as the preeminent organization in the evolving South Texas film industry.

Brownsville Border Film Commission

The Brownsville Border Film Commission was created in 2003 to market the City of Brownsville as a film friendly destination. The Brownsville Border Film Commission is AFCI-Certified, one of eleven Regional Texas Film Commissions, and a Film-Friendly Community.  

Located in the southern tip of Texas, Brownsville offers an unforgettable and matchless experience along the border–sister city to Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico–with beautiful landscapes, historical sites, unique flora and fauna, and wealth of culture and talent.

Get the Gringo  is a 2012 American action film directed by Adrian Grunberg, produced, co-written by and starring Mel Gibson. Filming began in March 2010 in San Diego, Brownsville, Texas, and Veracruz, Mexico.
